My husband wants to name our baby girl Harper. I think it's cute, but I'm having a hard time with it because it's not very feminine sounding. What are some example of other non-feminine names? I think if I could relate a non-feminine name to a person I know, or have heard of, it might help me envision our daughter with a not-so-feminine-sounding name...
Re: Non-feminine sounding Girl Names
Over the weekend, I met a really cute and feminine girl named Evan. NMS but it truly seemed to fit her perfectly!

I really like the name Harper, but IMO don't name DD Harper if you can't envision her as that. Don't settle on a name you don't really like.
Non-feminine names- Ryan (I love this for a girl), Piper, Taylor
Sutton is one of my fave girl names, too! But DH nixed it. I'm trying to convince my friend to name one of her twins Sutton.
I'm really bummed that Evan is becoming a girl's name. Ugh.
Sorry! If it helps, she was in HS, so maybe she's a female Evan oddity

Ryan, Finlay, Evan...These can all be girl names.
BTW, LOVE Harper. Very, very cute.
I knew a girl in school named Harley. And Paytin is becoming very common for girls.
I think Harper sounds feminine, but then again that's my daughter's name so I associate it with a really sweet little girly girl
It's no less feminine sounding than Jennifer or Heather to me now.
I LOVE Sutton (someone suggested that above, I know, but it's so cute). Piper, Emerson, Emery, Ainsley, Reese, Quinn, and Teagan are a few others I liked that kind of fit in that category.
Some others that aren't superfeminine:
Amber
Carly
Addison
Riley
Sadie
Here are others ...
Good luck!
I like Harper for a girl! Jordan, Morgan.. I know girls named Hunter, Ryann, and Holdin. My daughter's name is Brayden.
While I'm not a huge fan of Harper myself, I like it far better than the... creative... ones that I've been seeing rise in popularity. If you like "Harper" but just need help reconciling it, To Kill a Mockingbird was written by Harper Lee, who was a female author.
Riley, Ryan, Quinn, Theodora, Dylan
BTW I like Harper
My son watches a show "wizards of Waverly Place" A girl on the show is named Harper. So I know it as a girl name.
