Whether it's an adult or a child? Just curious. It's up there on our
list of baby names, and I know 2 (one is 15, the other is 8), but a
friend just told me she knows 4, 3 of whom were in her DS's preschool
last year. I do think it can be a regional thing, and they're Jewish
(and Eliana is a name of Jewish/Hebrew origin)... so I thought I'd just
ask. (Not sure it would really sway our decision, as DD's name was #32 the year she was born, and Eliana is currently only 193...)

After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I love this name!
I voted 'Yes', but technically I don't know her. I just know of one that was born recently through a blog I read.

Yes, both adults and children. I'm Latina so this name and similar variations of the "ana" ending are common to me. With that said, I love the ending sound and names...my own is Lilliana.
I had an Eliana in my class my last year teaching. She is about 8 now and hispanic.
I know 3 other little girls named Eliana. One is a baby, one is 4 and the other is 12. They are all jewish.
It is one of my favorite names, but my student Eliana ruined it for me. She was adorable, but a complete nightmare and her mom was all kinds of crazy! I'll never use the name, but I really love it.
I think Eliana is rising in popularity, although certainly not in the top 10 or anything.
But the nickname Elle/Ellie is done to death right now. There's so many Elle/Ellie/Elizabeth/Eleanors, etc.
I didn't think I knew any until I read through the responses. I know 3 people named ileana, of varying ages and all are Hispanic. Not sure if you would count that in the same category as Eliana.
I know an Eliana. But your pronounciation is not one that I could get out...
