I just watched this video on CMT and now crying my eyes out!  Has anyone else seen this? We all can relate to this song in one way or another.  So sad, but so true.

    i haven't heard this, and i didn't know Danny was doing country (i don't listen to country) but i still cannot listen to You are My Sunshine without bawling about my dad or my boys...  ((HUGS))

    I never heard of Danny Gokey.  I love music so I totally connect to songs that seem to convey what I am feeling, etc.

    he was on American Idol a couple of years ago, I really liked him, he was a little more bluesy, I didnt' know he was doing country.

    O.M.G.  I just YouTube'd it, and it is heartbreaking.  I think it is a wonderful song, but I don't think I'll be able to watch that video for a long, long time.  Here is the link in case anyone wants it.

    Thank you for sharing.   You are right...I think we can all relate to this song, in one way or another.

    She did. I can't remember if was cancer or a heart thing or what, but it happened right before he went on American Idol.
