Re: 4 hours of dry diaper??

  • I think its overal number of wet diapers in a day, which is supposed to be 6-8 I think. Wow...that was a definitive answer huh? So I'd give her a bit more time...is she nursing normally?

it's hard to tell - it's not non-stop.. she has been hungry but not eating a ton.. kinda drifting off to sleep and sleeping a while.  it's hard to tell with her too because she's so dang messy when she eats and wears half on her face so it's hard to know how much she's actually swallowing..

she went almost all day without pooping during the day yesterday too which weirded me out - but then caught up and kept pooping after her diaper changes and driving dh crazy lol..

i don't like it when they change things up!  freaks me out!

eta: i forgot - she actually went 6 hours last night between feedings and slept till 3:30 (how did i forget that???)..  so maybe that's part of it?  she ate pretty good when we got up for the day but then spit up a ton too..

  • I'd give her another couple hours. How many wet diapers does she normally have in a day vs how many does she have today? Occasionally my LO will hold it all in and won't go for 3-4 hours (he normally goes every hour to hour and a half during the day). When he finally lets it out boy does he let it out!
  • I'm sure she'll be ok, as long as she's eating it will come out eventually. Re: the poop, Max has been on an every-other-day schedule for a while now, so if she misses a day, it's normal :)
  • Don't be surprised if she misses up to a week of poop and then gives on HUGE poo. DS and DD both did that...I think DD's record was 5 days w/o a poo and DS's so far is 6 days. Its normal for BFed babies so keep that in mind, they are just using up more of what goes in :)
