Stay at Home Moms

vent

i love it when new moms are like

"when are you going to start potty training?"

he should be going potty by himself

i'm going to start him doing this at this age

the old they get the harder it is to get them to learn

that one may be true but well you know what....personally i don't care....stuff happens when it happens.....the reasons i don't do stuff at a certain point is because there is either a reason behind it or i don't feel like doing it then because i think he's not ready for it

yes i am potty training him at 2...i am in the process....he's not catching on it as i much as i would like...but i am doing it....so back the F off

thanks for letting me vent......facebook is a horrible place sometimes

Re: vent

  • I'm confused.  So you think that you should wait until they are ready?  And it doesn't seem like your DS is ready, but you're doing it anyway?

  • all i'm saying is that a new mom...before the kid turns 1...should not be telling me when i should do stuff with my own child

and with DS....its a work in progress....i know that he should be going potty by himself soon...and thats why i'm working with him

  • Facebook is the devil Devil.    Everyone has an opinion, just let what she says in one ear, and out the other.
  • I would let it go in one ear and out the other.  Everyone's child is different some are ready sooner than others.  Whether your working with DS or not shouldn't matter it's none of her business.  GL!

  • i don't mean any disrespect while telling you this, but sometimes it's hard to hear things you don't want to hear.  did you consider that maybe they're right?  it seems like in your OP that you even admitted that you weren't working very hard with your DS.  i myself have not potty trained DD yet, (she just turned one) but i do know that it's something that you have to work very hard at, it just doesn't come naturally or "happens when it happens."

that being said, YOU are his mama, not anyone else.  potty training is a sticky conversation sometimes, so if i were you, i just wouldn't talk about it with anyone, except people you trust.

  • I think anyone who offers unsolicited advice about something they have never experienced is a moron.

none taken and no disrespect to you...but i just moved from texas to nc...and then currently went through the stress of buying a house....potty training wasn't the top of the list...especially since i prefer not to try to teach my DS while on the road....to much aggravation

thanks for the advice tho...sometimes i just gotta vent

  • Your son is 2-1/2.  You're well within the normal age range for potty training.  Try not to let dumb comments bother you.
