I love this bed and I have tried talking myself out of it for a long time. Is 2300 way too much for furniture that DD would have for the rest of her life? It would be a full bed and extra wide dresser and nightstand.
I look at furniture as an investment. Like you said, she'll have it forever. It's worth it IMO to buy well-made stuff that will last. You pay more, but if you buy cheaper stuff that's not as well constructed it will even out if you have to replace it.

It is a gorgeous bed. BUT, the way my DD beats on her furniture at this point, I would never spend that much. Plus, what is "forever" really? Does that mean when she begs you for a princess bed with a canopy that you're going to tell her "no, you can't have that because mommy spent $2300 on THIS bed"
I personally wouldn't do it, but it is your money...
However, I am a lush and would give in to my DD eventually if she wanted to do something like that. It is her room after all! You must have more willpower than me!
And I did not know we could actually type shit on the new format! Cool.
We paid a little over that for the kids furniture --- they will have it until they move out of our house --- so (assuming) 18 years worth of use. Definitely worth the money.
OMG! Where did you find that? I love it. I'm looking for something in a dark cherry like that! I've looked around here at Thomasville, Broyhill, and Ashley, but I haven't really found what I like.
I'm like you. I want soemthing that she will use all of her years here, and even take with her when she goes. (I still use the bedroom suit I had growing up - it was a full/queen. we're getting a King when we move. For furniture that's 18 years old, it looks great! I've taken good care of it and it was a nice brand).
Anyway, 2350 is a bit high for just 3 pieces, but I'd spend it knowing that she would get a long use out of it. And it's "neutral" enough that you can do more bright colors now for a little girl room, and more mature stuff as she gets older.
Re: 2350 for DD's bedroom furniture???
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
That seems a little high to me. We did not even pay that for the furniture in our master bedroom, I think we got that for 1800.00.
What would you do if she wants to redecorate with new furniture and stuff when she is older?

BAC - Tell her tough shit? lol
DH and I still sleep on my bed that I got when I was about 10 when we go home to my parents.
Yeah! Try that! LOL.

Shit.
Wow that is really beautiful. I would never spend that much for 2 reasons...
1. I do not have that kind of money. My adult bed didn't even cost that much.
2. DD will probably trash it at some point because most kids destroy items. They don't care how much it costs.
