Well, they recalled the rest of the drop-side cribs...

CPSC posted the latest major crib recalls...ours is finally on it. It looks like are making just a sweeping recall of all drop-side cribs, which I kind of expected. Most brands seem to be recalling all drop-side cribs that they make.

    I figured it was coming so I moved DS to a toddler bed this week. I felt bad throwing away the crib, but no one would want it now after all the recalls.  For what it's worth, our drop-side lasted through 6 years and two recalls without any problems.  Perhaps they're just being very cautious.

     

    BTW, love the new siggy pic! Leah is getting so big.

    Yep, I think ours finally got recalled, too.  I need to read it more carefully and check the sticker on ours, but it sure sounds like it finally got recalled.

    Is it bad that I was hoping that this eventual recall would result in a new crib (and not just a "fix" kit)?

    Yeah, I know. That's what happened last time our crib got recalled and I actually enjoyed shopping for a new crib. Too bad I didn't buy a fixed-side that time! But Leah's crib is getting chewed up and I would have liked a newer one for the next baby!
