Houston Babies

u/s update.

My baby's femur is still measuring small, but is growing consistently.  Doc reiterated that she really just thinks my 5'0" self is having a short baby, and that it can be hard to get exact measurments anyway.  I feel better, and I'm trying not to let my worries creep in (thanks to google, I know that a small femur can be a soft marker for down syndrome).  We also agreed that no more u/sounds is a good idea for me.

Thank you all for your support.

  • good news!  and stay away from Dr Google Smile

Also, I think it's very common for babies with DS to have heart issues, so I think if your baby's heart is okay, then you're just having a little one.

  • I hope the u/s results made you feel better.  Thank you very much for the update and I hope you'll sleep a little better tonight.

  • I always take the approach of "if my doctor is optimistic, i'm optimistic" so it sounds like everything looks good. i hope you can rest a lot easier now.

  • one of my tests showed me being high risk for downs. i had an amnio and everything was negative.

then they thought dd was measuring small, and it took the high risk ob saying "mom is tiny and dad's not that big either, this is just a small baby" before everyone calmed down.

dd is now happy and healthy and almost 2, and very soon yours will be too. ((hugs))
