When I went for my first appointment with my OBGYN last week, she told me that I had a "sensitive cervix" and that that was not unusual for my age etc. That day I had a pap done, plus an internal u/s, and the next day I had some spotting. I called the doctor's office and they said it was normal with what I had had done (that was Thursday of last week) and that I may also see some spotting after sex due to this.
The spotting is still hanging around off and on up until today - still light amounts and dark brown in color. Hubby and I did have sex over the weekend (I think Saturday night). Do you guys think this is probably related to all of the stimulation at the end of last week/this weekend and my highly sensitive cervix?
At what point would you call your doctor? I think mine is tired of hearing from me!
Re: Spotting and sensitive cervix?
I would call just to make sure when I had my first son the people in the office knew me by name even over the phone I was there and on the phone with them so much so don't worry everyone is like that when they're pregnant and that's what they're there for is to answer questions.
I do have a question though what all did you see on the internal u/s? I'm supposed to go to my doctor next week but I'll be a couple weeks behind you and I keep telling them I don't think we're going to see anything yet but they insist because it's internal that they will be able to see something.
I may call them just to be safe. Heck, my doctor has started calling me from her cell phone when she's not in the office so I think they realize I'm going to be calling a lot. I just don't want to be a bother! lol
All we saw was the yolk sac (which they said was normal) - they sent me for the u/s because my doctor thought I was 8 weeks but I thought I was less and we wanted to be sure. We go back on July 2 for a follow-up... I'm really hoping they don't have to do internal again!
I had spotting for the first 5 weeks of my pregnancy. It finally stopped about a week ago but I have noticed it a few times after going to the bathroom. My doctor told me that the brownish/pinkish spotting was coming from my cervix and so now reason to be concerned after doing my vaginal ultrasound. I also spotted more after my pap smear so I feel that is normal. But if you are at all concerned call the doctor. Who cares if they are sick of hearing from you that is what they are there for
