it's about 85degrees right now, and I wanted to go hang outside but I think that's too hot for A. However am I going to sit in the house the whole summer?? I know I can troll the mall etc, but what else is there to do?
When it's really hot, what do you do w/our LO? (our pool isn't 100% ready yet or else I'd take him in there)
Re: Warm weather and LO ?
Britt was born in May... and its hot as hell here in NY in the summer. Keep him shaded and he'll stay cool... bring a mist bottle and spray him often - keep him well-hydrated, and sunblock (if your doc says it's ok - not sure what the "current rules" are for that, as my baby is 14....)
And if all else fails, fly here - my pool is ready, house is cold, room is open.... I know, it's my turn to fly there - and I'm trying to find the best weekend - but it may be one when you're back to work already. Summer snuck up on me and I'm sinking fast!
I got nothin'! Let me just say HOTlanta is living up to its name and I don't know what to do with Caroline. It's even too stinky hot and muggy in the early mornings to get out. We've asked for a little pool for her birthday, so hopefully we'll be able to get outside in the shade and splash around soon. Other than that, I hate driving around in this heat and then coming back to a boiling hot car.
Have I said how much I miss California? I didn't have this problem there.
- Get a sun dome and visit the beach.
- Get a little pool for the backyard.
- Put a swing under a shady tree.
$10 mini plastic pool from Toys r us and some bath toy, easy & cheap
Is there a shady park where you can take walks?
Free summer concerts at a local rec center in the evening?
Well I live in the hottest place in the world- Florida....I take G to the mall a lot and walk around or go to a friends house...I take walks in the evening, and we use our pool....
Buy one of those little portable fans you can attach onto your stroller that will help with A not getting so hot...
We try and do as much as we can in the AC as possible....
