Homeowner's insurance recs

Our homeowner's insurance is up for renewal and I haven't shopped around in years.  Anyone have a recommendation for an insurance agent I can call to get me some quotes?

    My friend's husband is an insurance agent.  He helped us when we were house hunting and we got our insurance through him for our house.  His name is Elio Alfonso and his email addy is elio@sharpins.com.  He can give you quotes from different companies.  Unfortunately for us, Citizens was the only one that would insure use because of our location and the year our house was built.

    he has other policies and any time ours has gone up we call him and he gets us the best price. You would not believe how cheap we got our new allstate policy though...it's peanuts!

    We just went back to Citizen's from Argus.  We have an older house in Miami, and no reputable insurance company will insure us.  Only nonrated companies.  Not good enough for me.  We went through our Allstate agent for the Citizens policy.

    do you have your homeowners through allstate or are they just the agent, I used to have allstate, I still have an allstate agent but thought allstate wasnt writing in florida..if its allstate they are the best if you need them!

    Pam,

     It is with Allstate...apparently they opened a bunch of new policies here. The agent congratulated us...and told us the only people getting accepted were people who live West of 441. Maybe try calling your agent again?
