Babies: 0 - 3 Months

DD will not sleep!!

maybe she is finally getting on somewhat of a schedule! she slept 7 hours in her PNP - only waking up once for a bottle but went right back down! she even layed their this morning all content just talkin away!

but now she will not nap today!! i tried at 9 but she woke up after a half hour and was crying constantly! finally after an hour of trying the paci, bottle, shhing, walking, singing and everything - i toook her outside for a little. she finally calmed down. now she still wont go down and she is just so fussy!

i wanted her to STTN so badly but now im kinda hating it because she is a monster so far today!!

could this be a growth spurt? or just finally getting into a schedule?

Re: DD will not sleep!!

  • My LO sleeps about 6 hours at night, but as a result, he's not much of a napper. I'd rather him sleep at night so I'm not sleep deprived, but it does mean he's more of a handful during the day.

  • I think this is pretty normal behavior.  My son didn't take long naps until he was 5 months old.  He would just take cat naps.  If you get frustrated, you might want to try taking a walk, going for a drive, or wearing the baby.  My son was usually calm when I did these things.

  • DD usually sleeps from 11-7 for the most part. Naps have always been a struggle. Lately when I know she needs to sleep I end up giving her a paci, then rocking her while she sleeps. She'll scream bloody murder if I try put her anywhere else, like the crib or swing. Sometimes if she needs to sleep, I wear her and she catches a little rest. I hope as she gets older the naps improve. I'm trying to get her used to napping in her swing in her room in hopes one day I can get her to sleep in the crib. Sometimes it goes ok. Sorry no paragraphs! I'm on my phone. 1ht.

she used to nap most of the day but was up every 2 hours at night! so like i said, hopefully she is starting to get set into a schedule!
