nuk first choice learner sippy cup HELP!

OK, I must be an idiot but I can not figure out how to put this cup together so it works properly! There is the nipple part, the ring, and then this disc thing. How does it fit together?

    there was a diagram on the package or inside.....i think.  the disk fits into the mouth piece and then they fit into the ring.

    i tried that but he couldn't get anything out of the cup! Maybe the disc is the wrong way?

    LOL  ok the disk is for transporting without it leaking.  don't put the disk in when using it......

    DS loves this cup! I had to cut another slit connecting the 2 slits already there so that water can come out more easily. I know your not supposed to but it seems okay so far.
