From the day we brought our son home he would not sleep anywhere except for his swing or chair. I finally got him to sleep in his bassinet after elevating it. He has had good days, but his bad days have been really bad. Then I started thinking that maybe it was acid reflux because he spits up so much and screams like he is in pain. The doctor put him on zantac...this was last Friday. By Saturday he was acting like a different baby, much happier. But on Saturday night I laid him down to change him and he started acting like he was having trouble breathing. We took him to the ER thinking maybe it was a reaction to the zantac. Everything looked fine and of course while we are there he seems great. So they dismissed us like we were stupid first time parents and I called the doc on Monday and got him in first thing. So we didn't give him any more doses of zantac just in case. The doc said he thinks it is probably related to the acid reflux he is having, so only lay him at 30 degrees, not flat. He is back on zantac now, but even at 30 degrees he still has trouble, acting like he isn't getting enough air. I am hardly getting any sleep right now. Should the zantac eventually solve this problem? We haven't even been on it for a week. Or should the doctor be doing more? I'm just worried that my son is going to choke in his sleep, so is 30 degrees enough to keep that from happening?
Re: Help Please-AR Related, long
Hmm...some of that rattly scary sounding breathing is normal...see https://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/t086700.asp.
Random thought...but could you try taking a video of it to share with your pediatrician? Maybe you'd feel more comfortable with his diagnosis then (or they could adjust it)...good luck.

I don't know. I remember reading in Dr.Sears' baby book that some AR babies should be put on their bellies but I can't remember why?...check with your pediatrician.
