OMG... I just got a call saying that I need to bring Max in with an empty stomach because he is probably going back into surgery for this freaking catheter. They won't transplant him early.

I am praying so hard. Ever since she posted the video of him walking for the first time and his face is so full of joy I have had a place in my heart for him.
I saw her yesterday and honestly she just seems over it. She said everytime she brings Max to the hospital she doesn't eat because she always holds out hope that they will transplant him early. They are currently living with her parents while they try to sell their house and also it will be helpful so that her parents can take care of them after the transplant.
It might be nice if we can get a collection together to get her a massage/spa package. She's just been through so much and devotes all of her time and energy into taking care of Max. I think she needs a little me time. If people are interested I would be happy to get this together for her.
I definitely think we should do it. Even just sending her flowers and a card....something to let her know we are all thinking of her, Max and the family.

We should definitely put something together for her so she can relax in the month ahead. She does need to focus on herself more, so she is healthy for the surgery next month.
That is good that they are living with her parents, because those first couple weeks after surgery will be hard. I know taking care of DH when he donated his kidney it was mentally and physically exhausting.
I agree--we should definitely put something together for her--Let me know when and where I should contribute. I think a spa gift card would be great-- or even something more generic like a visa giftcard might be nice so they can use it towards what they need the most help w/ since I am sure there are medical bills piling up
Re: Update on Max
Me too! I don't know what would be helpful to her right now though? Maybe we could all take up a collection and do something nice?
