So I just got a call from the woman who is supposed to come to the girls party on Sun to play music and sing songs to tell me that she broke her arm and needs surgery.  So she cannot make the party.  I felt horrible but like OMFG, now what.  She told me she sent an email to about 10 other people who do parties to see if anyone is available.  So now I have to wait to see if anyone is free and will come to the party.  Otherwise, it is going to be a very quick party since there wont be anything to do.

Re: I have the WORST luck
This exactly! I'm sure it will be a great party no matter what. Don't stress too much!
I was thinking about making a music playlist for the kids and just letting them dance around. I guess I can always buy some crayons and coloring books and let them color for a little. I just wish I knew what to do.
Is your party indoors?
If so you can check out the craft section of your local dollar stores. They usually have some age appropriate goodies. I picked up these foam photo frames, paint markers and stickers and am going to let the kids design their own frames. i will take their picsture at the party and send it along with the Thank you cards to their parents for them to put in their frames.
I also found face paint cheap at Walmart and figure I could paint the little ones faces with simple designs.
Indoors musical chairs works well too. If you don't want to use chairs put circles of paper on the floor or something similar.
If you have a yard and are doing it outside, a sprinkler will do the job easily. You could do relay races and have candy bags as prizes. Water balloon toss...
Do you have a theme? I could probably come up with ideas for a specific theme.
You are awesome and creative. Our theme is just a garden party. I like the music chairs idea. And decorating frames. At least all this will be cheaper than the music person if it does fall through. Thanks so much!
I'm also doing a count-the-candy game at our party too. Fairly cheap and easy and exciting for the kids. You could probably find flower or insect shaped candy cheap online, put it in a jar (count it first of course) and then have the kids all write down how many they think is in the jar... then at the end of the party call out a winner. Total cost is maybe 5$
Here are some blogs with other activities that look relatively cheap and easy.

(Love the flower pots. You could buy packets of seeds for the kids to take home and plant after wards too.)

You could buy these or even use stickers and washed baby food jars to make bug catching jars.

There are a ton of cute, cheap favors and supplies on that last link. Good luck with everything!
