Anyone elses LO flipping around in their crib?

DS just started sleeping in his crib over the weekend. We bought a wedge for under the mattress because he was having some trouble sleeping flat. He is also swaddled. He starts at the end of the crib with the wedge. Mid-way through the night, he has moved and is laying with his head to the back of the crib and his feet to the front. By the morning, his head is at the complete other end of the mattress. The best part is, we don't hear any of this happening in the monitor! I can't imagine how he will end up once he starts rolling! Goodness!!

  • We had this happen with DD too. She sleeps with side positioners and no matter where I put her to sleep in the crib she will be flipped around on the other side of the crib (with the positioner still on her sides Big Smile )

  • We also have a night-time acrobat. We have her mattress at an incline as well due to AR. We would find her completely upside-down (and smiling) pretty much every night. What helped us a lot was rolling towels and placing them in a U shape underneath her sheet. It sort of keeps her in place. Somehow, she gets her tush over the bottom one now that she is more mobile, so in the mornings, she is pushing off of the bottom of her crib with her feet - we have no idea how she does it! Good luck!
  • yeah, mine has been doing her share of scooting/rolling around. a few mornings i've found her with her legs hanging out the front slats. then she saw me, smiled, and hiked her legs up and pivoted to get them out. she must do this a lot.

  • Oh yeah, Brody is never in the same spot we put him in. This morning I went in to wake him up and he had his head up against the side rail of the crib, on his stomach, with his knees up under him so his butt was in the air. The best part is his head was turned to the side and his mouth was wide open with a drool puddle on the sheets lol. I guess it was comfortable?

  • DD has become a professional flipper. Last night, I caught her on her belly with her legs trapped between crib slats. She slept that way for about 6 hours. Some nights, I find her with her head smooshed up against the slates, and I hate that. We typically lay her in there in the middle, but not the way she would lay if it were a bed (we lay her so her head & feet are towards the sides of the bed, not the ends).

My conclusion is that she sleeps just like her daddy... like a fish out of water.

  • Yes, we have a crazy child too. She manages to escape her sleep positioner every night like she is freaking Houdini and ends up with her feet up on the top of her crib with her little tush against the side of the crib, lol! Heaven help us when she starts rolling and crawling...oy vey!
