Braden Michael is here! God has given me a miracle in my handsome little son!
It's been a rough road the past 4wks with blood pressure spikes, vomitting and dehydration issues, despite the constant water drinking... but it is oh-so-worth it! Tuesday, June 14, two days after my due date, I had an appointment at 10:45am. Went in and fetal movement was slowed and my blood pressure was high. Doc called for an ultrasound to check amniotic fluid levels and size of baby; fluid was low and 2 seperate ultrasounds found him to be well over 8lbs. Doc stripped my membranes and induction was then scheduled for Wed. June 16 at 6:30am. We went in to find us at 3cm and 60% effaced. Pitocin was started and by 11am we were 4cm dialated and 70% effaced. At 11:30am the doc broke my water. Checked by the doc again off and on and at 6:50pm and was 8cm and 80-90%. Within an hour was a full 10cm and began preparing to push. After a weak spell OR was prepared for a C-Section, but got a second wind and birthed Braden Michael into this world at 10:39pm. He weighted 8lbs 8.5oz and was 21in long. Healthy as could be and so very precious and handsome! There was meconium in the amniotic fluid so under hospital care until Friday, according to the doc's policy. As the epideral wore off it was discovered that my bladder had quit functioning on it's own. With an in and out cath 2200cc were drained; my bladder stretched to roughly the size of a volleyball. Cath was put in for 24hrs and after being removed my bladder began working as it should again. While scary for a bit baby Braden and I are now home:happy and healthy. Breastfeeding exclusively: he is a champ! He is such an easy going baby and a joy! ![]()
