what age/jumparoo?

we got a fisher price jumparoo hand me down from a friend. practically new, same one we registered for. no instructions. i'm looking online, but not finding much. at what age is it appropriate to start LO in the jumparoo?

HaHa last time I was on here some lady got all snotty with me because I had Ares in his at 2 months (he was holding his head up by himself and had complete control)...telling me he shouldnt be in it until 4 months yada yada... once you put your little cutie in it you will know if he is ready for it or not

I think it is mostly based on how good your LOs head control is. My mom started to put DD in one at her house when DD was about 4 mo, but she had pretty poor head control before that.

We put him in it right before 4 months and he LOVES it. He will spend an hour in it at a time (I'm right with him the entire time). I think he would have been fine even earlier (and he was born 5 weeks early). We have to put a pillow under his feet and I put a blanket behind his back so he can reach the toys. He jumps so high and loves making the music start himself. He feels like a big boy in it.

When you feel your baby has good enough head control to bounce around without any support.. usually around 4 months. DD had great head control at 3 months and her pedi told me I could put her in it but her legs never reached the floor so I put it away until 4 months.. she is now over 4 months in the 97th percentile for height and still her legs don't touch.. I'm starting to wonder if I put it together wrong but you'll know when LO is ready for it.

4 months is average, but Jack is nowhere near ready for it yet. He doesn't even sit up in his bumbo. : I have a lazy freakin' baby.

The main thing is to make sure your LO does have control on his head and body. I started putting my DS in his jumperoo around 3 1/2 months and he was interested in all the things on there but couldn't do anything by slump over. In the past couple weeks (right around 4 months old) he has really started playing with the toys and holding himself up. He now actually turns himself around to play with all the different toys and bounce a little.

People got snotty at me when I posted a picture of DS in his with my hubby's old engineering text books under his feet. Told me he shouldn't be in it until he could touch the ground. Whatever, my kid is a monster (18 lbs and 26.5 inches at 4 months) and his feet still don't touch the ground! He loves it and we just put a pillow under him. Your LO will let you know when she is ready.

I did try that once after seeing a picture of it on this site that somone posted but DD seemed lazy or scared so she just sat there and looked at me weird before screaming murder lol.

My DD loves her jolly jumper and has been in it since she was about 10 weeks old. But when we put her in her jumperoo she just seems so small! She doesn't fill it out well, even with a blanket, so I am going ot keep her in the jolly jumper ( which she loves!) for now. She has great neck control to be upright and bounce, but is just a thin little string bean:)

DD started just before 4 months, but she had excellent head control and good trunk control.

As long as LO has that I think it is fine

Micah has been in his regularly since 3 months. We also put a pillow under his feet. His tippy toes can just now reach. We actually tried putting him in it at 2 months every once in awhile...for like 5 minutes at a time. He didn't really understand the jumping at that time and liked the music when we moved it for him, but he would get tired and start slumping over after a few minutes. Eventually he got the hang of it and loved it. Now, he goes in it just about every day...it's a lifesaver for a mom whose LO wants to be held constantly.

Mine says 4 months but at 4 months DS seemed really wobbly in it and didn't look secure. In the last 2 weeks he has been in it and fits so much better.

They also need to pull that stick out of their butts and learn how to have fun in life. It's not like I put my kid in a shark tank and told him to go swim.

I put him in it at a bit over 3 months. He has always had really good head and neck control and is now nearly sitting on his own. I put my Wii fit board under him at first but now he's 26" and 16+ lb and can touch the ground. He loves it. It's fine as long as you don't leave them in it for a really long time.

i agree that as long as baby has good head control it is fine. and not to be one of those, but my pediatrician told me not to exceed an hour a day in the jumperoo because it could interfere with development.

I started putting DD in it at around 4 months when she developed excellent head control. She didn't really "get" it or enjoy it until closer to 5 months, however.
