I'm about 5 weeks and stilling riding my horse as much as possible.
I was just wondering if anyone eles was an equestrian and preggo and still riding during their pregnancy. I plan on riding as long as my body tells me its okay.
My horse is 16 and has a total puppy dog personality.

Re: Any horse loving moms to be out there?
I wanted to but I asked my doctor about doing a trail ride that was all walking and he told me absolutely not because the movement can cause placental abruption or injury to the baby.
Pregnancy also really threw off my center of gravity. When I was paying attention to balance, I noticed I was off kilter. I'd be scared to ride because I think you'd be much more prone to falling than under normal circumstances.
I rode during both pregnancies as long as i was comfortable.
With DD she was born in May- the weather was cooler- and I rode my horses until I was around 34 weeks pregnant.
I haven't rode in a while (within the last month) this pregnancy but it is hot as balls outside and i have a toddler to keep me very busy- even though she loves the horses. I am just more tired and not really in the mood to ride as much. If i feel like I won't hesitate.
if you are feeling ok- and you are comfortable- my doc was fine with it. he said use common sense and don't go jumping or anything.
I have three horses- all older and rescued- they are all very laid back and calm.
