How much breastmilk do you have stashed/reserved?

I only have 45 ounces stashed. I keep thinking that it is not enough in case I get sick or have to be away from Matthew for longer than a day. The only time I left him for a day (24 hours) he drank 38 ounces.

How much do you have stashed? Do you have a goal amount?

  • I only have about 16 ounces frozen. I don't really have a pumping schedule though. I only pump when she sleeps really long, doesn't have a good feeding or only eats on one side.

  • Only 15oz.  We don't ever leave the house, and I try to EBF as much as possible.  That stash will be used up on Friday when I sit for boards, so I'll have to start  from scratch.

  • I have around 60 Oz. stocked up...

I should really use some of it! LOL

  • None as of now. We'll likely be moving in a few months and I don't think the milk could make it through the move, so I'm not pumping much yet.

  • Like... 15oz Embarrassed

I don't ever leave LO for more than a few hrs for school, and I pump during school to replace what he eats while I'm gone.

  • I have about 12 bags, each with 6 ounces. I start work next week so I have been working on it for a few weeks.

  • No joke, I have over 150 oz of milk stashed in my freezer.  I produce A LOT of milk and since I went back to work I have been pumping during the day usually getting 18 oz in my 9 hour day.  Then I pump 6 oz in the morning after feeding DS, 6 oz in the evening after he finished eating and then recently another 6 in the middle of the night as he has started STTN and I have to get up to pump to keep from getting engorged.  It's ridiculous. I'm currently dealing with a clogged duct so I can't stop pumping.  I'm thinking I need to donate at least half of my stash.

I am soooo jealous!! How on earth did you get such an enormous supply??

  • 51.5 oz, I just calculated today.  I've been pretty lax about it since I'll only be working every other weekend and Riley still takes only about 3 oz a feeding.  Most of it I've pumped in the last 2 weeks since I had mastitis.  I fed her off the infected side to keep it empty and pumped the other.

  • I haven't counted in awhile but I think I've got about 150oz+. LO only eats from one side at a time and eats about 2 oz (based on what she takes when we give her a bottle). I don't pump on a really regular basis but I generally get about 8 oz total/session.

I return to work this weekend but I'm only going back full-time for 7 weeks, so I think I'm going to stop pumping except when I'm at work.

  • I have about 300 ounces in my freezer and LO isn't even 4 weeks old yet!  I tend to have an over supply in the beginning (I did with my other two babies as well) and this little guy only eats every 4 hours or so during the day and at least one 6 hour stretch at night so I pump between feeds occasionally to relieve engorgement.  This morning, for example, I pumped after he ate and got an additional 6 ounces.  I'd say I pump about 3 times a day now (as needed), but it was much more in the beginning due to the engorgement.

  • About 40 oz. I pump once a day, in the morning, because DS usually doesn't eat that much and I tend to be very full. I learned my lesson about having a good stash after being admitted to the hospital for mastitis...We had to supplement with formula for a few feedings while DS was home with DH, and I barely had anything saved up.
  • A lot.  I think I'm at about 650oz.  However, I will be returning to work and I get a little obsessed with the whole pumping thing.  I had 500oz when I went back to work with ds.  We bought a deep freezer this time to prepare but  I never thought I'd be able to reach that with a toddler at home.  I worked hard to start building a stash early.  I think I'll have 800 when I go back which will make pumping at work so much less stressful.  Or, I'm excited that I'll have a whole month extra once I'm done bfing.
  • Around 200 oz. I want to have over 300 by the time I go back to work in 6 weeks. I would have a lot more but we go places a lot so I'm often pumping for bottles.

  • 60 ounces.

I did all that in the first 7 weeks. I haven't added to it since then because we haven't been home since then.

  • none
