Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Is this a growth spurt?

So, DD was getting into somewhat of a routine...eating every 2-3 hours (breast milk) then sleeping in between. The last 2 days or so she has been awful - crying almost all day, cluster feeding and not wanting to go down at night. Is this what youv'e experience when LO has had a growth spurt? I'm hoping that's what's going on and it will stop in a few days...I want my "easy" baby back!

Re: Is this a growth spurt?

  • This is EXACTLY what we have been experiencing.............and DD is 2 weeks old. All the reading I have done points toward growth spurt.

So frustrating eh? I don't know much about growth spurts and haven't read anything so far, so I'm realllly hoping that's what this is - I don't know if I could handle much more of it!

  • Yep, I haaaaate growth spurts.  DD almost never cries but during those times she does nothing but eat and fuss and barely sleeps.  Luckily it usually only lasts a couple days and then she sleeps like a TON.  GL!

Ahh, I'm feeling better already - it helps when you can see a light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks ladies!

  • Our DD hit a 6 week growth spurt over the weekend.  All weekend, she fussed constantly, ate very small amounts all the time and hardly slept at all.  It was a little better yesterday and much better today.  She seems back to her "schedule" now.  Seems to only last 2-3 days, thank goodness!

    Hang in there and GL!
