we made it through sleep study (barely)

OMG!  It was a ROUGH night last night!  Our tech guy was awful!  He kept huffing and puffing when an EEG lead would come off.  He was very rude to Aiden when this kept happening.  I was very disappointed with how he dealt with things.  Aiden woke up over 15 times between 9:45pm and 6am (when the booted us out the door.)  Some of which were the tech's fault....he still needed to hook up a few more things and as soon as I would lay him in the crib he would come in and start talking and messing with him- I kept telling him that he is not in a deep sleep yet and to wait.  Well, after the second time he listened to me bc he was so mad that he had to keep redoing them. I hope we will have results on Monday when we have repeat swallow study and see ENT for post-op of laryngeal cleft.  The only comment he made this morning was that Aiden had a lot of spontaneous arousals during the night- he said EEG may show something with that (we didnt do full EEG bc sleep study was really for apnea not seizures).  But, he said it could be something else like heart murmur.  I sure hope it is nothing else going on!! All in all we made it out in one piece!  :)  Just have a super tired mommy today (we are moving this week- so no naps for me....and Aiden hasnt napped yet.)

    Boo for a lousy tech! As if sleep studies aren't a PITA enough. Well, I'm glad it's over! Hope you get the results you're looking for. good luck on the move!

    Oh my. That sounded hellacious. I would definately give the tech a "needs improvement" grade for his performance.

    Thanks ladies!  Seriously I just wanted to walk out.  How can they do pediatric sleep studies with tech's no obviously dont want to be working with kiddos?  I am just burnt out!  Hopefully we will both catch some good zzzzz's tonight.  :)

    Sorry it was so rough. Ours was a long night too. At least our tech was decent though. I don't know how they expect them to sleep normally with all that crap attached to them and when they keep coming in and out. It seems impossible to me. Hopefully you will sleep better tonight.
