I was reading through my baby name post down below, and Vanessa said although they're not finding out the gender, she's 99.9% positive that it's a boy.
I was the same way - I was absolutely convinced we were having boys. I didn't have any reason to think this (and most of the old wives' tales tests said we were having girls), but I was totally and completely positive they were going to be boys. In fact, when the u/s tech said "There you go, you're having boys!" I just kind of nodded and went, "Mmmhmm, yep!" I would have been shocked - and I do mean SHOCKED - if we were having girls.
Ben, on the other hand, kept wondering if they'd made a mistake with determining gender right up until the boys were born (umm, honey, I've had like eleventy thousand ultrasounds, and I'm fairly positive all those techs can't be wrong!). So he kind of thought we were having girls, and was unconvinced right up until the day they were born lol!
Re: boy or girl...did you know?
My gutfeel told me it's gonna be a girl so when we had our u/s, i was not surprised when the tech said it's a girl with no doubt. now, i am second guessing though. what if the tech made a mistake and she turns out to be a boy? lol.
I never craved for sweets and i'm having a girl.
I love Hawaii!

Everyone who commented thought I was having a boy because I carried all the weight in my belly. Before I even was showing though, I had a really strong sense that it was a boy. We picked boy and girl names, but all along I felt a little sad knowing that we wouldn't be using the girl one. Then when A was born and DH announced "it's a boy," I squealed, "I KNEW IT!!!"
Heh, I was secretly glad we were having boys because I loved our boy names much more than our girl names.
I voted for pie, since we don't find out for 2 more weeks...
I was convinced before we even got pregnant that we would only have boys - for this very reason. MH's dad has 4 brothers. They have a total of 9 kids (including MH and his brother) - 8 of which are boys, 1 girl. But, given your experience, who knows - we shall see! i can't wait to find out
I don't crave sweets at all - in fact, I rarely ever eat sweets anymore! They just don't appeal to me
But again - who knows...
...i still think this baby is a boy though!
re the bump - supposedly, boys make your belly more "pointy" and girls make your belly more round all over...then again, one of my friends is having a girl, and I thought her belly was pointy - maybe I just don't know how to read them right
Ha! Mine looked like I'd swallowed a beachball, it was so round! But maybe that's because I was having two...
We're only having one, and I'm definitely more round! In fact, pretty much ALL the old wives' tales pointed towards girl. Shows how much "they" know! :P
I don't know why, but from the moment we got our BFP, I just always thought of this baby as a boy. The thought or image of a girl never entered my mind. MH also just knew we were having a boy from the beginning, which is why he started calling him Hank.
When we had our big u/s, I was kind of worried that we weren't having a boy. If we were having a girl, did we somehow already mess her up by thinking boy all this time?! Yes, silly, I know.
About the sweets...I am all.over.them. My sweet tooth has been in overdrive throughout this pregnancy! Ice cream, frozen yogurt, cake, pie, brownies, cookies. I have to admit I've been behaving myself a little better the past couple of weeks, though.
The Chinese gender chart was right. And I'm carrying like a boy so far. Most people can't tell I'm PG if they look at me from the front or back. I still have a waistline...for now.
Mine was right too!!
This is a fun question, esp to hear who;s hunches were right on. I've definitely been feeling like this baby is a boy, and DH thinks girl. We have a while until we find out, but I'm curious what myths others either proved right or wrong. So far, I've had hardly any m/s, have not craved sweets at all, and I'm not showing yet, so can't tell by the stomach.
I'm also wondering if any of the heart rates made you think one sex over the other, that old myth.
Mine was wrong.
LOL like I said, just about every one of those prediction things said we were having girls. I've just got to be difficult, don't I?
I think the rates are something like 140 or below are boys and 140+ are girls, right? Ours were generally borderline - like 142 and 145 - but occasionally dipped down to the 130s or up into the 160s, so I can't say one way or the other.
I honestly could never tell with either of my babies. I really was on the fence, well and truly.
For 3-4 years though, I had a 100% perfect score as far as predicting the gender with OTHER people's pregnancies. I forget who ruined the good run for me lol.
When Josh and I started dating, I 'felt' we would have kids together and that we'd have two girls and a boy, in that order. I actually envisioned them (I sound loopy, I know). I saw the eldest girl having dark blonde hair and brown eyes, the second born girl having dark hair and blue or green eyes and the boy having dark hair & blue or green eyes.
Right now, Maya has dark blonde hair & brown eyes and Samara has fair hair and blue eyes....so we shall see if her eyes stay blue or turn green like mine did and whether her hair turns dark.
but the heartrate slows down as the baby grows too - so for these cut-offs, what timeframe are we talking about?
