I have been having some attacks recently and went to the doctor today. He thinks that it could be my gallbladder. I am having an ultrasound on Friday. Anyone have experience with this?
I had my gallbladder removed in March '09. Sometimes, the attacks can be controlled through diet. Try to avoid greasy foods and too much dairy. If you do have gallstones, your doc will probably suggest removal though. It's a simple arthroscopic, out-patient surgery. You won't be allowed to lift your DC for two weeks afterward, so that's tough, but it's great to not have attacks anymore.
Dh had his out at 25. It was simple lapriscopic surgery, and he was up and around in a day or two. His was filled with stones, the Dr said he hadn't seen one so bad before. You will need some help for a few days, I suggest pre-cooked meals and maybe a babysitter (or grandma) over for a few hours each day for the kids.
Yup. Had my first gallbladder attack when I was four months pregnant with my first child. Thankfully, didn't have another one during the rest of my pregnancy. But it hit full force a month after I had him.
I had my gallbladder removed in February 2000. It was laproscopic (sp?). I was sore just few days and then was all better.

I hope you're feeling better soon!
