i got it for DS. It doesn't help him sleep at all and he doesn't even care much about it. Our LOs are a little young for STTN, but I'd like at least more than 2 hours at a time! 1ht
It's just like a glow worm but it plays music. We have it but he prefers the sleep sheep. I use the ocean setting & it plays for a lot longer than the worm. The worm is like 10 bucks though, so it can't hurt to try.
i do know of some babies that sleep every now and again through the night, but i would also give anything for LO to sleep longer than 2 hours. Once 3am hits she is up til almost 7am! and i mean WIDE AWAKE!
every so often she will fall back asleep til like 6 but thats it!

I don't think it will help your LO STTN as it only plays for 5 minutes before it shuts off. BUT, it's been invaluable to DD for daytime fussy periods and when we're traveling. She absolutely loves it. She stares at the light on its belly while I change her and the music really does lull her to sleep. I think it's the undertone of gurgling water behind the music that really does it.
Personally, I couldn't live without it and I've taken to buying one for all of my friends' children too. For the $15 or less it costs, it's worth it even if it doesn't become LO's favorite toy.
It glows and plays music and makes a bubbling noise. DD loves hers. The main thing that is so great (for us, anyway) is that I can put DD down to sleep when she is not asleep yet and she will lay there and stare at the seahorse until she falls asleep. Before the seahorse I had to make sure she was fully asleep before putting her down or she'd cry within minutes.
We have a sleep sheep too and she does like the sounds from that but it doesn't work the same for DD, she likes to look at the glow from the seahorse.
DD is 6 weeks and sleeps in 5-6 hour stretches, I don't know if it's the seahorse or not, but I'm not changing a bit of her routine!

Why is it such a big deal to have her sleep through the night so early?
I think waking every 2-3 hours is quite normal for LO your baby's age. Now, if she is up at 3 and won't go back to sleep, perhaps she has her days/nights confused. How often is she napping? We used the 90 minute sleep solution which helped with that.
However, not to burst any big dreams, but lots of kids don't sleep through the night. My DS is 10.5 months and doesn't STTN. And there is NOTHING wrong with that.

My DD doesn't give a crap about the seahorse. Waste of money for me. She enjoys music when she's playing in her little playmat thing, or in her swing, but not when she's going to sleep. When she's trying to sleep or even drowsy and we turn on the seahorse, she wakes up and fusses until it turns off.
She's not close to STTN, but we finally got her to sleep longer than two hours and drop her awake time from 2 to 4am. Even if your LO likes the seahorse I don't think that would help her STTN. Have you tried spacing out her feedings? Gradually of course. Once DD stopped eating every two hours, she's dropped one of her nighttime feedings and sleeps around 4 hours, gets up to eat, then sleeps 3ish hours. Then we're up for the day until nap time about 3 hours later. She eats during the day every 3-4 hours and takes more formula at a time and that's when she started sleeping for longer. (That was per pedi advice to space out her feedings)

Haven't noticed much of a difference with my LO yet but he's only 6 weeks. Maybe when he's a little older it will soothe him more.
