I recommend setting a flexible schedule. For example, feed him no sooner than 2 hours, but no later than 4 hours after his last feeding. And feed him as much as he wants right now. My neice was an enormous baby, but thinned out once she started walking. Your LO could just be going through a growth spurt, too.
I EBF, so I'm not sure how many ounces DD2's getting, but they do go through growth spurts (incl one AROUND 3w +/-) so your guy may just be cluster-feeding b/c he's growing. I wouldn't worry about it, but I would continue feeding on demand.

Are you kidding? Setting a SCHEDULE for a 4w-old infant? SERIOUSLY?
To the OP, feed on demand. Your NEWBORN eats b/c he's hungry. Your schedule means jack sh!t to him, and it's cruel to deny food to a NEWBORN b/c it hasn't been two hours yet.

DS will be 4 weeks Thursday and is very similar. He eats 3-4oz every 2-3 hours - except an occassional longer stretch when he is napping and once at night. I just feed him whatever he needs. If he finishes 3 and wants more I make another oz. At this age, it can't hurt!
I do believe in feeding on demand as well, but my only concern is over feeding...is that even possible? Will he spit up if he gets to much? what does cluster feeding mean?

A newborn won't overeat. He'll spit up any excess. Cluster feeding is when they feed more frequently (usually in the evening) kind of so they can fill up for the night, basically.
Please don't try to put such a young baby on a schedule.
My LO would nurse constantly if I let her. I learned that she is a "sucker" as my pedi put it. She has AR and when she is fussy she acts hungry, even if she has just been fed. I wait two hours in those instances even though she is giving hunger signs...and she gets a paci
same here. my 4 week old does these mini cluster feeds, usually in the evening where she wants to eat every hour. I feed on demand and just keep putting her to the boob. Also, do try the pacifier. I think my DD likes it for the comfort too, like if she has been hanging out for a while on there and not swallowing, then i take her off and give her a pacifier.
