Appt to discuss injects Thurs

Any specific questions I should ask?  I'm hoping the IUI works and I won't need the info, but I didn't want to waste a cycle waiting for an appt.

Do they usually go over the actual injections themself or is that pretty self explanatory if you've done the trigger before?

Re: Appt to discuss injects Thurs

  • IMO, pretty self-explanatory. I didn't really have an "appointment" to go over them so I can't really give you any ideas.

My Follistim came with a video that we watched and it gave me all the info I needed.

    Hope you don't need it!

They will probably just explain what your protocol is.  My RE took one step at at a time.  The nurse showed me how to inject the Lupron a few days before it started then waited a few days before stims to show me how to do that.  She also had me practice.

  • Ok thats pretty much what I figured.  Thanks!

  • My RE just went over how to do the injections at home.  I took Bravelle injections for 3 days at home and took them in the evening and was told to put them in my stomach at a angle.  Bruising may occur and burning.  then on day 5 i did the hcg trigger shot at home as well and then the 7th day i went back for the IUI procedure and now i'm waiting the 2 week period.

  • I hope you don't need them, but injects are super easy.  I had done Ovidrel before (w/CC), so I just kind of looked over the printed instructions and it was not bad.  GL!
