I've already got the Boppy but now I keep hearing buzz about My Brest Friend. I think I can return the Boppy, so I am wondering if I should? Any advice?
My pedi office has a My Brest Friend, and the LC there had me use it... I like it SO much better than the boppy I have at home. It velcros around your waist to stay in place better, and it has more surface area to keep LO in place. I still need to roll up a blanket to prop DD's head up when I feed her, but I still think I'm gonna splurge and get a Brest Friend on top of the boppy I already have.

I had one hell of a time BF'ing, but am still doing it. I highly recommend the My Brest Friend, that is what I used at the LC office every week and it was so much better! I have the Boppy too, and I used it too to prop up DD, and I use it as a pillow...when I lay on the couch, but really the other is so much better for BF.
I have them both and use them about equally. MBF was great for nursing, especially on an overstuffed couch with little support. I loved the support, and the super cool pocket that i could stash lanolin and nursing pads in. But the Boppy got equal use in the bedroom for nursing as well as for propping baby up (photos, etc). The boppy was also great for nursing her in the rocker, because you can mold it to the chair a little better. Personally, glad I have them both.
I've never used My Breast Friend, but I LOVED my Boppy- it was my constant companion (even took it on trips) until she was 11 months old- I retired it when she started nursing less.
I had both with DD, so I say keep both!!
My Brest Friend is awesome for nursing - way better than the boppy. But the boppy was good to use to prop baby up.
MBF--great for nursing in the early days when it takes forever and you are still getting the hang of it.
Boppy--great for bottlefeeding, nursing in the rocking chair, tummy time, pictures, reading books (DD would sit on the boppy in my lap instead of just my lap), resting your laptop on...
I had both and they both served a good purpose. If I could only have one, I preferred the MBF. I found it better when he was a newborn nursing around the clock, and I could leave it attached and walk around the house and sit back down all while feeding him (holding him tightly, of course!) As someone with a bad back, I found that it helped me achieve better positioning and less back/neck strain.
BUT...when he was a little older and bigger, I started preferring the boppy because it was easier to just pull on, and it was a good stabilizer when he was learning to sit up, etc.
As long as you have one or the other it's a huge help. A regular pillow just doesn't cut it (for me).

I took a breastfeeding class and the instructor said the Brest Friend supports your back and is great for football holds. She recommended putting on the Brest Friend and the Boppy on top of that so when you lay baby in the cradle hold, you really are only supporting his/her back with your arm, leaving more flexibility to help with latching on. I hope to get both.
Even though the name is ridiculous, My Breast Friend is way better. The strap is what makes it magical. You can tighten it up and strap it on and the baby can stay supported much easier than with the Boppy which continues to slide down and has to be readjusted all the time.
Of course, you lose the Boppy's advantage of propping your LO up once they have neck control, but I think it doesn't even compare.
For those first few weeks of nursing, go for My Breast Friend. After a while, you wont' even need anything. Good luck!
With DS#1 I had both My Breast Friend and Boppy. I exclusively used My Breast Friend for nursing and occasionally used the Boppy for DS to do tummy time on, as the Boppy did not work for me to use nursing. This time around, I only bought My Breast Friend.
Re: My Brest Friend vs. Boppy
Honestly, get both
