My kid is very close to driving me crazy. About two weeks ago, she figured out how to climb out of her crib. Naps have become a nightmare. Firstly, she cries and whines when nap time is mentioned. Secondly, I have put her back in her crib about five times already since putting her down around 11:30. We've ordered her toddler bed, but don't want to transition her until after we move in mid-July.
Going to bed at night is peaceful and she sleeps through the night.
What can I do?! Am I doomed for naps?
Re: What do you do re: getting out of bed?
maybe try a nap mat on the floor.
Generally, DS does not nap when at home but the few times that I can get him to nap, he will not nap in the crib. But he will nap on the floor like he does at school.
have you tried putting one of her favorite books in bed with her? my kiddo loves to have her books in bed, sometimes wakes up early from nap and will lay in crib and read. my vote is to stay consistent with what you're doing. save the nap time and keep putting her back in bed. hopefully she'll get the picture - she has to take a nap or lay down and rest for your designated time frame.
good luck..
