To demand that H mow the lawn this afternoon in 95 degree weather on Father's Day, no less?
He's on travel all this week and if it didn't get done today, it wouldn't get done at all.
He didn't grumble about it, but I know how much he hates lawncare. We have an old fashioned push mower (NOT my idea.. his!) and I hate the bloody thing. I even asked for a "real" mower for Mothers Day and he laughed at me.
Oh, and he's getting steak and fries for dinner, so he's happy about that.
Re: Is it bad of me...
The reason he insists on a push mower is that we have the tiniest yard in the whole neighborhood. He swears it only takes "a few minutes" to mow, yet he's out there puttering around for hours. "It's not bad when you keep up with it." Whatever.
Peppa.. I did have a teenager mow for me last year when I was pregnant, but he's in college now and went to Europe or somewhere for the summer. We do have one neighbor's grandkid who will mow for $10 (cheap!!) but we don't always want to call him unless we let the lawn get too long!
My dad used a push mower, and while most of our yard was garden or woods, the lawn element was not super-tiny. I totally understand.
When I was growing up, though, I admit I loved using the push mower. It made me feel so mighty!
