VA weekend getaway ideas

DH and I are lucky enough to have our parents watch LO this Sat so we can celebrate our anniversary. Any ideas for a quick night away? The catch is we're dropping LO off at their house in Culpepper. I was thinking about hitting a few wineries down in the Charlottesville area and then staying over night. Any suggestions on things to do/place to stay? We're just looking for some quick R&R

    we spent a few weekends in charlottesville visiting wineries....we had a great time!  if you go, be sure to visit kluge & blenheim in c'ville and if you are in culpeper, stop at prince michel on 29 on the way down to c'ville, they sample around 20 wines!!

    the omni in ch'ville is right in town and in the downtown (walking) mall area where there are a few restaurants, shops and a wine bar.

    If you are going to C'ville, King Family Vineyards has polo matches on Sundays during the summer.  Really fun and different way to spend their afternoon.  Can't comment on the wine, the two times I was there I was pregnant.  I know my brothers really like the wine.  You can bring in outside food too.
