Hello,
I'm moving over from 3rd tri. I had my baby boy on June 12 - 5 weeks early. He is a pretty good size for being early, though - 5lbs, 7ozs and he's 18 inches long. He's been in the NICU learning how to feed, but he gets to come home today!

Re: Introduction
had my baby a month
early too. Were you
having complications?
Hope you're doing well
now, I bet you can't wait to have your baby home. Good luck!
I had a couple of large fibroids, and as the pregnancy progressed, my OB thought I would go early, but not that early. Other than that, the whole pregnancy was smooth sailing - no morning sickness, even! Three days before my water broke, though, I did start having some minor contractions and my OB determined that I was dehydrated and gave me several bags of IV fluids. The next day I had an ultrasound and my high-risk doctor (due to the fibroids/age) told me my fluid was high. I don't know if the IV had anything to do with high fluids or my water breaking three days later. The odd thing, though, was that the hospital had several 35 weekers give birth all within a couple days! One nurse said it must have been the barometric pressure...lol.
How is your baby doing?
You are definitely lucky for no NICU time and that you went to the hospital when you did! I guess the old saying is true - always trust your motherly instinct! I'm glad everything worked out for you.
My fibroids didn't cause me any pain at all, though my OB had warned me that they might. The largest one was about 6 inches across, and was blocking the "exit" for lack of better words, so I had to have a c-section as well. It's been a little tough recovering from the c-section and making the daily treks to the hospital to stay with my baby. I am SO glad he is coming home today!
that they didn't hurt. I
can't imagine being
seperated from my baby,
that must have been so
hard. Good luck to you,
the first nights at home
are awesome, I'll never
forget mine.
