Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Christ on a cracker! cio sucks when the kid can stand.

Is that better?

She woke up and is having a hard time going back to sleep. So we let her cry a little bit. I finally sent H in there, and she was standing (a new-ish skill for her in the crib) and she couldn't get back down.

Poor babe.

(oh and before you blame karma - she was awake before I posted my god damn it post below).

  • DS just started standing in his crib.  I just left him and he found his own way down.

Was he screaming his head off in the process?

And pog - it's a damn good thing H is in there right now. Any re-wakes can be fairly placed on his calming issues.

  • we have been doign CIO for almost a week, L has been standing in the crib for over a month, and he figured out how to sit on his own. Its kinda pitiful now he doesn't stand, he just lays down and cries. Even when he wakes in the AM he never stands anymore.

Yes but not very long.  DS usually goes down without problem but tonight he was overtired and very fussy.   I went in and check on him after just a few minutes and he would stand back up every time I laid him down so I just left.  He cried for maybe 3 minutes more then silence.  I went in and he was sound asleep.

  • I just seriously loled at Christ on a cracker. Like I said you can obviously express yourself anyway that you like. I merely pointed out that I find it offensive, the same way that I point it out to DH when he says it around me. Of course you and I aren't married so my opinion is simply my opinion.

I'm glad you have a sense of humor ;-)
  • I do have a sense of humor and I was actually trying to be funny in the way I originally worded my comment. I failed. Guess I should have added a few LOLs or maybe a pig fvcker comment would have done the trick. ;-)

  • L does this too...it sucks!  The last 3 nights she has CIO'd for about 20 minutes each night.  I'm trying to tell myself it will get better...

  • If it makes you feel any better, it took DS about 4 days to figure out how to lay back down in the crib.  I hope she gets the hang of it soon!
  • DD did the same thing and it made sleep training 100x harder. I didn't know what to do-- if I should keep going in and putting her down, leave her, or what. Luckily it didn't last long because either she learned how to get down easier or standing up wasn't so interesting and fun anymore. It was a problem for I'd say a week or so. I'm sure it won't last long for your LO.. but I know it sucks when you're in the middle of it. :(

  • LOL at the title.  That is great.  That being said, DD did this for about a week and half then she figured out how to sit down herself.  GL!
