Is Miles still on thickened drinks? Does he take milk from a sippy or straw yet? Do you have to thicken that? Did you decide to thicken b/c he was coughing or did you have a swallow study that showed that you needed thickener?

We had to thicken because he was aspirating fluid into his lungs. Found this out at like age 3 weeks after a swallow study, and have been thickening with oatmeal ever since. We don't use the Simply Thick or any of that stuff. Miles won't tolerate it, and it's more expensive.
Anyway, yes he takes milk from a sippy and we do still thicken it. We're using the Nuby cups and haven't had any problems so far. They're also really good for low tone babies because the spouts are really soft and easy for them to suck liquid out of.
