I had my D&C last Thursday (over a week ago). I had very light bleeding until Monday and then it came heavier. I had my f/up yesterday where doc did u/s and said he saw clots and tissue which meant I would still bleed for another week.
Well, Friday afternoon, I started having really serious cramping like nothing I've ever felt before and started passing huge clots (I had a feeling b/c when I was there in the morning, the poking around definitely did not feel good). I freaked out and was a mess and called poor DH at work sobbing. I kept saying I can't believe this is our baby. He kept telling me it's not the baby, but the uterine lining shedding and going back to normal.
After that trauma, I am still bleeding really heavy (like 2 overnight pads within a 1/2 hour soaked) with such pain I've never experienced in my life. Doc said I could take Tylenol, which I did, but hasn't done anything. I go back again in another 2 weeks. Anyone else go through this? When will this torture end?
Re: heavy bleeding after D&C?

Surprise!! EDD 12/13/13 (Hoping for a VBAC!) Off home bed rest and now just monitoring a large SCH. Stable in size but not going away. SHRINK PLEASE!
Oh, I'm so sorry you are going through this after your D&C! It looks like they didn't get everything
I didn't have much bleeding at all afterward. But I started naturally m/c a couple days before the D&C and I had really bad cramping and passed a lot of tissue and lost a lot of blood. It lasted for about 2 hours. The next day it was waaay worse and I'm pretty sure I passed my baby.
I'm thinking/hoping that you are all done *hugs*
Yep. This.
I did pass some "WTF" clots in the week afterwards....the dr said that was normal and it was the "decidual cast" shedding. It looked like large strips of raw steak. I did have heavish bleeding, but it was more of a "fill 1 pad in 2 hours" type of bleeding. It tapered off after a week, then I had light/spotting bleeding for another wee.
