Daycare for a newborn?

Im really stuck in a rut right now.  After my baby boy is born I want to go back to work.  Of course after my 6 week check up.  But I'm so worried about putting my baby in daycare at such a young age.  I mean he would have to go in at the age of 8 weeks or so.  I have 2 other children and I never put them in daycare until 6 months and older.  Anyone have any comforting thoughts about this?  Would I be a bad mom to put him in daycare at such an early age?  My heart is aching because of this.  Sad

    my sister did this with her ds and i used to always pick him up from Daycare!! i was always impressed with how clean her daycare was and the "report card" we got to bring home!! if we could have done it with Faith,I would have but unfortunately for us $$$ didn't add up for us to do it, so our dd is at Grandma daycare while I work during the school year!

    I had to put my DD in daycare at around 7 weeks too. It was really hard, but I trusted them & felt very comfortable. They gave me daily reports, and I called a few times a day too, lol!

    I am a day care provider, and I have 2 infants in my care now.  One started at 6 weeks, and she adjusted wonderfully.  I think it is important to get them in early, even if part time at first, so that they can become acquainted with their day care provider before seperation anxiety hits.  Neither of my infants every cry w hen their mommies drop them off!

    I"m glad that I saw your post.  I have been struggling with the thought of putting my DS into daycare when I go back to school.  I will have him during the fall semester (but not til the end of the semester) so when I go back in the spring he will be about 7 or 8 weeks old and I will have to put him into daycare.  I know it's going to be very hard but I'm doing this for our family and for my DD and DS's futures.
