So I just had a chance to read your post from a couple of weeks ago about the new date wanting to be called grandma.  I just have you say, you poor girl!  I am so sorry you are going through this with your dad.  I can totally empathize. I've been there, friend.  My parents got divorced when I was 6 and my dad died when I was 16.  My mom had a couple of boyfriends in there, and then when I was 22 she met this guy online.  I think it was the 2nd time he came to town to go on a date that he ended up staying the weekend.  A couple of weeks later he stayed and spent Christmas and pretty much never left...just kind of moved in.  He's a miserable *** and is verbally abusive to my brother and me, but my mother will never admit it.  Anyway, long story short, he tried to insist that Claire call him "grandpa".  I haven't won many fights with him, but I certainly won that one.  Hang in there...and I'm always here to talk if you need someone who can relate ;)

    I decided I better try and get a chance to know her. Now that she seems to be sticking around. My kids will not be calling her grandma anytime soon, though. That's for sure! She got that message.
