We have been working on transitioning to sippy cups completely. We dropped morning nursing about two weeks ago and tonight I put him to bed with just a sippy cup of milk. He is still not great at the cup, he lets a lot of it just run out of his mouth, but he is getting better. He still nurses once in the afternoon.

I hope he sleeps through the night!

We kept offering a cup once a day and he knew how to use it and the sippy straw cups too but he didn't like/want it. This week however I gave him the sippy cup again and he's been guzzling it down. Not a whole lot maybe 2 oz at a time but it huge improvement. Not really weaning even though it would help me out but just wanted him to get used to it since he never took to a bottle at all.

My advice would be to have a few types of sippy cups available, some with straws some without. he will choose which one he prefers in the end and just keep offering it.

Good Luck! We had such a hard time transitioning and losing the bottle totally(the night bottle was the hardest). We actually didn't stop giving it to her until we recently moved about three weeks ago. We made the mistake of doing juice in the cup and then I couldn't get her to drink milk out of the cup. She now only drinks milk if we put a little bit of strawberry in it-which I know isn't the healthiest, but its the only way to get her to take it.
