Anyone use Dr. Erin Alward for your OB?

Hi everyone,

My PCP recommended Dr. Alward. I have my first appointment this Friday (I will be 7 weeks 4 days along). I called to ask what was going to happen (I want my DH there if there is going to be an ultrasound). The lady that answered the phone said that sometimes they do an ultrasound and sometimes they don't. I don't really want to make my DH miss work if they are just going to do tests/bloodwork.

My question: Has anyone used Dr. Alward before? If so, when did you have your first ultrasound?

I hope they do one so we can see/hear the heartbeat.

I do not use that doctor. I use Dr. Shanbour at Mercy. He is SUPER fantastic. His number is 242-4030. Good luck!

I've never met Dr. Alward, however, we go to her partner Dr. Robin Eisenhauer(sp?). We absolutely LOVE her! When we went in for our first appointment, she did an ultrasound. I don't know if Dr. Alward does but since her partner, in the same office, does, I'm betting she will too.

She did! And we got to see the heartbeat! Our appointment was later in the afternoon. She is really nice and pretty funny too - the jokes kept my DH entertained lol. Both DH and I are super excited. We are going to tell our parents in the next week or so now that we have seen the heartbeat. The office was really nice too.

Good! I'm glad! Just so you know, when you're further along and your back is absolutely killing you, the couches in the waiting room are really, really comfy! Lol, DH and I went to our first 2 appointments and sat in the chairs, after the 3rd one, we haven't left the couches. They actually offer good back support to so they were good on the days that I didn't even want to move.
