Need opinions on a name...

I really like the name Asher, but our last name ends in an -er. Does that mean we can never use the name? It would sound something like Asher Kuhmeller.

I'm always thinking of names for future children since I know it took us forever to decide on this one's name! lol

No I think it's fine. DD#2's first name ends in "en" and so does our last name and same will go for this LO. His name is Cohen.

I know what you mean, our last name ends in 'son' and although I love many of those names, we ultimately decided against it, it just didn't sound right to me. It is hard to find the perfect name though, so if you really love it, then go with it!

Our last name ends in "in" so it ruled out most of the names ending in "n" for me, so I know what you mean. But I don't think it's bad either.Asher was also at the top of our list - the meaning is great too, and it's Biblical to boot so that was an added bonus.

Based on the last name you posted that sounds similar - I don't think it sounds bad at all! We were going to go with Asher Reed for our boy name, but we are having a girl. I really liked Eva and Ava for a girl but we vetoed them both because DH's last name is Ev____, so we thought they sounded weird and too matchy, so I know what you mean about making sure they don't sound funny when paired with the last name.

I love the name Asher, my cousin named her (3 week old) Asher however I don't personally like the sound of it when the names somewhat rhyme but hey if you like it then go for it!
