Because I am abt to throw mine out the window! It never holds a charge even though it stays plugged in all night and is constantly staticy (is that a word?) SOOOOO ANNOYED!
which one. I have the bestview one and it is digital so there is no static. Also, you can contact the company about getting more rechargeable batteries...because it says in the directions that after a while you might need new ones. We love ours, but I have heard mixed reviews about the ones that aren't digital.
I have the Summer Day/Night monitor, if that's the same thing. I keep it plugged in all the time, so I'm not sure about the recharging. I do get static sometimes. Try switching the frequency. On the back of the monitor there is something that says "A, B, C" and it says the same thing on the camera. Switch to a different letter (make sure they are both on the same letter).
Also, there might be something in your house that is causing the static, like a cordless phone. Try plugging it in to a different outlet. That's what stopped it for me. Or, if you don't have it plugged in, move it to a different place in the room.
We have the one that looks like a mini TV. It has to plug in so I don't have to worry about it losing its charge. We haven't had a big problem with static either...maybe you just got a bad one. I'd call the company and ask for a replacement.
I feel your pain. We have the non-digital one and it loses its charge all the time - even after being plugged in and turned off all night. It makes me crazy. I randomly get static when it's too close to my cell phone or something.

Same here, so frustrating! We have two, the oldest is 2 yrs old.,has picture but no sound, at least static problem solved. The charger plug has to be facing up and the cord wrapped around the antenna twice for the static to stop.
Wow, I'm surprised that this is a common problem. Mine is off the hook for 3-4 hours a night regularly and it holds a charge just fine. I keep the video off though, which does tend to eat the video. I leave mine on the charger all night and day and only takes it off when DD goes to bed.
