Bob-- also on 3rd tri

I had narrowly convinced myself I neither needed nor could afford a Bob Revolution stroller, it's a nicety- one out of my price range.  But today I got to play with one, and see it in action and hear all about how it was this mom's one splurge and she doesn't regret it and its so worth it and so on and so on... So now I'm sold.  No going back, I'm taking the plunge.

But still! it's $400!! So I'm now also resolved to get it on sale... just 10%, I'm looking for just 10% off to justify my purchase. I have searched online high and low, tried 17 bazillion sites with all sorts of coupon codes-- and everywhere this is one of the excluded items... ARG!

I know REI lets you use your 20% off coupon on it from sites I've read (awesome!!!) but how the frick do you get that coupon?

Re: Bob-- also on 3rd tri

  • You need to become a REI Member ($20 I believe) and then you will get 20% coupons at all of their member sales. (I think I get one 3-5 times a year). You can also visit their members garage sales where we got our BOB on clearance for $200. Yes, they are pricey but SO worth it. We live in the mountains on rough roads and it's been fabulous.
  • Loading the player...
  • how about purchasing it from diapers.com? they are having a sale right now, 15% off strollers and car seats with promo code scgear. not sure if the one you are looking for is included - worth a shot! also you can get $10 off your first order plus free shipping with a referral code. mine is amy_6337 if you need one.

you could also try buy buy baby - we got most of our big purchases here with 20% off coupons. i never had any problems - i would either use one of their coupons or a babies r us coupon since they would accept them from competitors.

    good luck!

  • You could also look on craigslist if you don't mind having a used one. You might be able to find a family that barely used theirs and is trying to get rid of it at a decent price. Just a thought if price is your big concern.

  • We think alike! I've been stalking craigslist for months, I check it more often then my registry, lol! I even have the iphone app that alerts you when keywords are used in postings... nada in 3 months that would actually work-- in my tri-state area.  No one gives these things up, and when they do they go for nearly the original price and FAST.

Now I"m just getting pouty over the whole thing!

  • you can use a 20%off BRU coupon

Most say "in store only" so you'll have to buy it online (if your store doesn't carry them) and bring in the shipping receipt for them to give you the discount $ back.

that's how I got my double Bob :)

I did go to the store and they let me order it online there and I double checked with the manager that they would let me do it since they would have to manually override it in the system to get my money back.

  • Since they are hard to find on craigslist, you might also think of it as an investment.  If you get one and you take good care of it, you can usually resell it for quite a bit of money.
  • Hmm.... I got my Bob Rev not too long ago at REI but they were having an anniversary sale so I got 15% off as well as the membership discount additional to it.  I am not sure if the anniversary sale is still going on or not?  They even let me get the infant seat adapter for 20% off when I made the purchase together.

Most BRU coupons for 20% off of baby gears exclude the BOB and the Baby joggers per the disclaimer on the coupon but I have heard of a couple of people getting away with it.

I would try searching at various online site on the BOB Rev and you might find one for $350.  Not sure about shipping but some offer free shipping to first time customers.

A point about the REI membership too is that even though it costs money to join ($15 when we did but that was several years ago), you get a percentage of you purchases back at the end of the year AND the membership is lifetime.  We really don't buy that much from REI but basically made our membership fee the first year.

I joined REI (paid $20) to get the 20% off the BOB. I ended up paying like $400 to get the BOB and the car seat adapter--so it was worth it.

  • LL Bean has run these 20% off online usually with additional free shipping codes also.  I've seen it twice in the last couple of months so maybe keep an eye out there?
