I have a TMI question about something that happened during my labour?

-->
I posted this in 0-3, but maybe I'll get more answers here! I still don't know what this was --- I had woken up that night with period-type cramps and went into the tub. When I was laying in the tub with my ears under water, all of a sudden I heard a LOUD CRACK (almost like someone had smashed a walnut) and it felt as if something ramed against my bones on the inside... didn't feel painful. When I stood up I was dripping blood and then wiped away my "bloody show". What was that crack noise? TMI I know, but thanks ladies!

  • sounds like your joints were cracking (like you crack your knuckles?).  Mine do it all the time - hips, knees, toes, ankles, wrists.  I feel old!

    Call you doc if you are worried.

  • Could it have been your water breaking?  I heard and felt "pop" when mine broke, but I wasn't underwater...maybe that's what it would sound like underwater?
    Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
    LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
    LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
    Life is beautiful!

    It wasn't my water breaking, that happened on it's own at the hospital! Unmistakeable.
  • I didn't hear a crack but I felt the joint crack and the pressure release. Are you double jointed in a lot of joints? I am 75% double jointed in my body and we found out that my pelvis is also double jointed so I had trouble healing afterwards and the bones going back into place, they are almost completely healed now but I still have a little pain in my pelvic joint. Kinda sucks but it is what it is.
  • I remember feeling a loud "pop" and a gush when I had my bloody show.  At first I thought my water broke, but it was just the bloody show.  Maybe it was the membranes rupturing that you heard.
