thanks for all your opinions. i think i kind of know what i want now based on all the reviews you guys gave me.
i really love the baby jogger city select but that gem is $499 + another $160 for the extra toddler seat attachment. way out of our price range
besides my dad is gifting us this item and it wouldnt be fair for him to spend soooo much money.
i'm really inbetween the mac or combi but sans infant car seat option. i want to jump right into a convertible car seat this time around.
my questions are:
1. how old was your lo when they stopped using a stroller?
2. if your lo is still in a stroller how old are they?
3. how old is TOO old for a stroller?
i just want to make sure the double i get is THE one for us, don't want to make the same mistake i did the 1st time around and chose a stroller based on looks.
Re: last question on strollers/carseats
hey! just wanted to comment on #3 since obviously mine is still in a stroller, but my mom told me that I used the stroller until I was 5 or so. the reason was because my mom and dad were older (they had me at age 37) and by the time I was 4 or 5 years old they were already TIRED and SORE and in their 40's and did not want to hold a tired child who did not want to walk any longer when they went to the mall or anywhere else.
you have mentioned MANY times that while mady enjoys walking there are times when she gets tired of walking and she might continue to be this way until she matures a little bit more (apparently this is how I was as a child), which is why my parents held on to the stroller).
not that you guys are old and frail or anything like that - LOL - but dealing with one tired whiny kid who doesn't want to walk any longer let alone TWO has got to be difficult, so just keep that in mind.
(on a side note, I took Z to the mall today and he decided he didn't want to walk OR stroller. I had to hold all 29 lb of him for quite a while as I walked through the Town Center Mall as my friend pushed the stroller. my back is now killing me!!!)

I was asking my mom the same question the other day b/c we were considering a stroller with a dual seat option in case we have another baby right away. In my case, my mom said I could not sit in the stroller for long. I always wanted to be out and about. She mentioned that if anything, they had just an umbrella stroller for trips to Disney World. But, I don't think I even used that after the age of 4.
Andrea- are Nicky and my kids related? They are WILD in stores sometimes (not all the times thank God).
Sebastian is 4 1/2 ( I can't forget the 1/2 or he gets upset-lol) and still sits in a stroller. He is not a peanut (I think he might be 44 inches and 45 lbs if not taller) but he enjoys strolls and sometime for my sanity, I need them BOTH in the stroller.
I am buying a buggy board to attach to the back of my stroller for when Christian comes!
With E&C we used the Joovy Sit and Stand. It worked for us b/c I mostly go out with the kids alone to parks, malls, etc. so having Eli in the stroller was a must! They are three years apart. I felt he was still too young not to be in the stroller. Now that he is four almost five - he is no longer in the stroller. That ended the day Benjamin was born. As you know, we have the Combi side by side stroller for C&B. When E first saw the new stroller - he asked,"Mami, where do I sit?" Soooo cute, but I explained that he is a big boy now and can help me push the stroller. He hasn't asked since. Four was the cutoff for us. Life with two is going to be hectic. The stroller only helps to simplify things.
