Do any of you get annoyed when people AW things like deaths in the family? Seriously, how morbid is it that you feel the need to announce that so-and-so died just so you can have people write you a sentence of sympathy.
I don't get it.
Sorry if you do this.
I also get annoyed when people write really vague yet dramatic things like "Jane Smith can't take it anymore"...so you get people commenting "OMG r u ok?" and the like.
Re: s/o Facebook
The death thing doesn't annoy me as much.. I mean.. it is sort of big deal if someone close to you dies..i can see wanting to get it "out there"
The vague yet dramatic thing bugs me.. my one good friend does this a lot..it gets old.
one of DH's friends basically put a suicide threat on his last week.. He annoys me in general.. but that was super annoying. Now he's been calling DH every day to whine about how he hates his life.. maybe if he wasn't a weirdo and had some social skills he'd have a girlfriend.. (that was bitchy, wasnt it?)

I have so many people blocked from my news feed because of their annoying status updates. Or because they play all those stupid farmville games.
I really can't stand when people update their status, like 12 times a day. I do not need to know that you: woke up and had coffee, are going to the gym, cooking xyz for dinner, watching x show on tv etc. all in the same day! I had one "friend" that seriously updated his status at least once an hour!

My really good friend's Mom just passed away last week. We found out via fb. At first I thought it was an odd way to tell people but then realized it's actually a great way as everyone is on fb these days. AND, my friend is not someone to post something like that for attention. I know that it was done simply to let people know.
The vague messages are annoying. I think that's a total attention thing. It's like you want people to write asking what's going on.
The thing that annoys me the most are the quotes people post as their status. I know I can just pass over them but they irk me.
And why was I thinking you weren't on fb??
That totally annoys me too!
I don't have facebook anymore but when I did and there was a few close deaths that affected me tremendously, yes I did post that I had a death and wouldn't be around, not ignoring people, everything is fine otherwise. ?My reasoning for doing it works for me, sometimes I just can't talk about it with yet another person (even my close friends), send another email, text, PM or voice mail.?
For me, if I were to leave a post it has?absolutely?nothing to do with getting people to say they are sorry, if that is someone's sole goal in posting something like that then it would irritate me as well, but then you could venture to say that when someone posts a vent or sad news on here they are AWing to get people to say they are sorry and get attention. I think for the most part, people just need an outlet, I'm okay with that, I need it too at time. Whether it's facebook or the nest, people have a choice to read or not to read.
