Update on stuck baby

Just got back from the dr. and she said it's normal for the baby to be stuck in one position as long as I feel other movement, which I do. Her elbow (or knee) has been pushed out to a point to the right of my belly button all week. I'll just have to deal with being uncomfortable for about 6 more weeks. The dr. offered another ultrasound in 2 weeks so I just might take her up on it to see how the baby's positioned. I'm also curious to see her one last time before she arrives =)

Re: Update on stuck baby

  • Does your dr think that she'll move in time for her entrance into the world?  Would you be interested in having a version to move her if not?  I know that you are planning for a natural birth as I am, so I've been parnoid about the baby's position for the past month, especially after I found out that they will not deliver a breech baby vaginally in the Philly area.

  • Have you tried playing music on your belly to move her?
  • The dr. said at 36 wks if she hasn't turned then they'll do the version but for now she's not concerned. If she doesn't turn I'll definitely have to get a c-section she said. This is when I wish I could birth at Ina May's Farm!

Also yes, I've been playing lots of music for her throughout the pregnancy (she loooooves michael jackson especially), but I guess she's found one position she really likes for now.

I'll definitely get the ultrasound in 2 weeks to make sure everything's ok.

  • I had one g/f who tried everything and her LO would not move.  Others though, have sworn by yoga...? It may be worth a shot..

This is when I wish I could birth at Ina May's Farm!

If it was in driving distance and DH didn't think the idea was completely insane, I'd totally be there!  I really would have preferred a home birth or one in a birthing center the more I read about childbirth, but DH wouldn't hear of anything other than a hospital.

Let's hope she moves on her own in the next couple of weeks!

  • Didn't Crisitina get her LO to move by talking through a paper towel roll?  Someone had a trick like that... and one with flashlights.

Have you tried a bath or swimming/ being in a pool?  I know my LO would move all around for my when I was in the bath.  I know it is harder for both you and her at this point, but it may be worth a try.  I hope she flips for you soon. GL!

  • Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I have a yoga dvd so gonna put that to good use this weekend and on Monday when I first noticed she was stuck I took a soak in my tub so will do that again too.
