I just spoke with the nurse and she said the bloodwork showed the proteins for downs syndrome. In laymans terms she said 10% chance. She said the thickness was high for the sonographer at 1.9 and 2.0. However, she thinks the obvious nose bones and baby measuring ahead are good signs. It's just really upsetting. I go back for more bloodwork at 14 weeks and a detailed scan at 17 weeks. I don't know who to talk to about this whole thing, but am trying to
stay positive.

Re: More not great NT scan news :(
I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. Early tests though have proven to provide false "positives" a lot in the past. A friend of mine (who is pg with #4) ALWAYS declines early testing because 1) the accuracy isn't always the best and 2) they check for everything at your big u/s anyway.
Don't worry (easier said than done, I know). No matter what happens your baby will bring you so much joy and love you won't know what to do with yourself!!!!!
I'm sorry you didn't have a good scan. I just wanted to give you some hope - we had a 50% chance of the babies having chromosomal abnormalities (Down Syndrome or worse) and we did the CVS testing. I got the results this afternoon: normal!!! We were a wreck, but good news can come out of it.
You have a good attitude - just stay positive and take each day as it comes. Good luck with your follow-ups! You'll be in my prayers.
This.
But I will be praying for you guys and will keep you guys in my thoughts. My ultrasound tech was so thankful I was declining this time around bc she said she sees way too many false positives. So I will hope that is your case.
