Has anyone done this or is it a horrible idea? I ask because there is an awesome cement track by our house and it's super smooth (people are always rollerblading on it it's so nice). The track is half a mile long so there aren't turns all the time. I've kinda researched the jogging stroller and from what i've read it's really not that different from a regular stroller. Would it be okay to jog (on that track only) with my regular stroller? And is there a certain age DS has to be before I start?
Re: Jogging with a regular stroller??
We have the Graco Quattro System...it's pretty smooth and when I was walking along the track with him I jogged for about 25 yards to check it out and it was really smooth sailing..I just didn't know if it was "safe" to run with a regular stroller...or if I would look like a complete wierdo...

You really shouldn't be jogging with an infant until at least 6 months of age. I think many recommend 9 months. It's just too jarring for their necks at this age. I have a double BOB and as much as we would love to run with both kids, we just can't yet. We have to run with just DS in the single jogging stroller until DD is much older.
Not knowing your stroller much, I can't say too much specifically, but I'd highly recommend a jogger for when you do run. Running is much easier with larger tires and a fixed front wheel. I'm not saying it can't be done, but in my experience I really wouldn't rec it. It's like night and day with my jogger(s).
I think it depends on the stroller. I used my regular stroller for jogging (Kolcraft Contours Options four-wheeler) with DD1 and it was great. I have a regular jogger with a locked front wheel and it was a PITA to steer/turn; I much preferred my regular stroller.
But I wouldn't jog with a newborn or very young infant in any stroller. Joggers have a recommended age -- I think it's usually 4-6 months or something? But your LO needs to have a certain amount of head/heck control and be able to tolerate being bounced around a bit.
It might be something to ask your pedi about.

Even with a jogging stroller, you should not be jogging with LO until they are 6 mos old. They have better head/neck control then. It is too much bouncing for them right now. Also, I have never seen a jogging stroller with a 4 wheel base. Most regular strollers are 4 wheel base. The triangle is the most stable shape so that is why jogging strollers have 3 wheels. In summary, I would NOT jog with a Graco.
