FF and rice cereal

So the pedi recommended that we add some rice cereal to DD's bottles. I'm having a lot of trouble getting the holes in the nipples to the right size to allow the thickened formula to come out. I've tried just using the fast flow and she can't suck anything out. Then I tried opening the holes of the slow and fast flow a little wider and it kind of worked, but she had to suck too hard and got frustrated. Then I slit one of the slow flows and that was too fast. I feel like Goldilocks and the 3 bears. LOL. I need something that is just right. Any suggestions?

*We use avent & dr. brown's bottles.

    We also use formula, rice cereal, and avent bottles. I sanitized one of those holders you stick in an ear of corn - every time I make a bottle I quick stick the prongs in each hole of the nipple and wiggle it around to stretch the hole. (we use avent number 2 nipples so there are 2 holes) It works like a charm. If DS is eating and seems like he isn't getting enough I just use the corn holder again. I ruined so many nipples trying to cut them and make the holes permanently larger - nothing worked til I tried the corn holder! GL!

    My sister swears by the stage 2 Dr Brown nipples for cereal. My DS is EBF, so we haven't started this kid yet.

    get Dr. Brown's "Y" cut nipples. Works wonders.

    Got these and they are fantastic!! I wish I would have known about them sooner.
